Accreditations

Hawai'i Pacific University is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission  (WSCUC) . The university has been accredited since 1973. WSCUC reaffirmed HPU’s  accreditation on July 11, 2022, extending it to 2028; correspondence is posted here.  The July 11, 2022 letter from WSCUC is available on pages 1-3, HPU’s response to the WSCUC site team’s report is available on pages   4-16 , and the WSCUC site team report is available on pages   17-63    The timeline and committee membership for the February 2022 WSCUC Reaffirmation of Accreditation visit is available  here.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master's degree program in nursing, post-graduate APRN certificate program, and Doctor of Nursing Practice at Hawai'i Pacific University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). 

The Social Work programs (BSW and MSW degrees) are ccredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

The Public Health programs (BSPH and MPH degrees) are accredited by the   Council on Education for Public Health. . 

The Education programs (B.Ed. and M.Ed. in Elementary Education and the M.Ed. in Secondary Education degrees) are approved by the Hawai'i Teacher Standards Board and are accredited by the   Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP)

The ARC-PA has granted Accreditation-Provisional status to the Hawaiʻi Pacific University Master of Medical Science-Physician Assistant Program sponsored by Hawaii Pacific University .

The HPU Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in Honolulu, HI is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). 

The HPU Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in Las Vegas, NV submitted their application for candidacy on May 1, 2024, to the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education  (CAPTE).

The HPU Doctor of Occupational Therapy Programs (Honolulu and Las Vegas) has been granted Candidacy Status by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).

After a comprehensive four-year review, HPU's computer science program received ABET accreditation in August 2022. ABET is one of the most coveted professional accreditation agencies in the U.S. that accredits post-secondary education programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology.
