Kam's Helmet Day.
The Hawai'i Pacific University Men's Basketball team annually honors the memory of its former teammate, Kameron Steinhoff, through the Kam's Helmet event. Steinhoff died in May 2011 from a head injury suffered in a skateboarding accident.
HPU Athletics invites the community to its annual Kam's Helmet Day on Saturday, January 20, as part of the Sharks Men's basketball game against Hawai'i Hilo at The Shark Tank (2707 Pamoa Road, Honolulu, 96822). Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m., following the Women's basketball game that begins at noon at The Shark Tank.
During halftime of the men's game, keiki in the community attending will receive a complimentary helmet while supplies last.
