Hawaiian Airlines employees Justin Nowak, Kenny Lee, and Kalani Sloat spoke with HPU students during a panel session.
During their presentation, Airlines staff elucidated the career trajectory at Hawaiian Airlines and emphasized the pivotal role of leadership and sustainability in the industry. The panel delved into the significance of honing operations and project management skills and provided a comprehensive perspective on the diverse facets of excelling in the aviation sector.
“As you embark on your career, I want to leave you with this, embrace resourcefulness as a guiding principle in seeking avenues for learning, personal development, and facing challenges,” Nowak said to the students. “I encourage you to actively engage in various endeavors, such as volunteering for leadership roles, aiding others in their tasks, or even accepting roles to gain a deeper understanding of intricate operations, with an emphasis taking a proactive approach to growth.
Nowak also stressed the importance of resilience and self-belief. “You should never allow anyone to dissuade you by claiming something is beyond your capabilities or too difficult,” said Nowak. “As this is a resounding call to embrace challenges as opportunities, fostering a spirit of perseverance and unwavering determination in the pursuit of personal and professional fulfillment.”
