HPU has extended its deposit deadline from May 1 to May 15.
HPU announced an extension of its deposit deadline from May 1 to May 15, 2024, to accommodate delays associated with the rollout of the new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is expanding eligibility for federal student aid and streamlining the user experience. The University’s decision aims to provide prospective students ample time to make informed decisions regarding their enrollment at HPU.
The FAFSA, a crucial application for students seeking financial aid for higher education, has experienced unexpected delays in its rollout, impacting the timelines for students and universities alike. Recognizing these challenges, HPU is taking proactive measures to alleviate stress and ensure all applicants have sufficient time to navigate the process.
More than 90% of incoming HPU freshmen receive scholarships, grants, or a combination to finance their university education. By extending the deposit deadline to May 15, HPU is reaffirming its commitment to accessibility and affordability in higher education. This extension will allow prospective students to fully consider their financial aid options and make well-informed decisions about their academic future without feeling rushed or pressured.
"We understand the importance of financial aid in the decision-making process for students and their families," HPU Vice President of Enrollment Management Greg Grauman said. "Given the unforeseen delays surrounding the FAFSA rollout, extending our deposit deadline is a necessary step to support our prospective students and ensure they have the time they need to explore their options and make the best choice for their education."
HPU encourages all admitted first-year students who have applied for admission to take advantage of this extended deadline to secure their enrollment for the upcoming academic term. If students have not applied to HPU for the 2024-25 academic year it is not too late. The priority application deadline is March 1, 2024, for an April 1 admission decision. After March 1, HPU offers rolling admission.
