Alaska Airlines Regional Vice President for Hawaiʻi Daniel Chun recently visited a college of business classroom to engage HPU business students with insights about Alaska Airlines. Chun presented on the airline’s history, its dedicated involvement in Hawaiʻi, leadership qualities, and the recent acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines.
Chun was born and raised in Hawaiʻi and was recently appointed to his current position in August 2023. He has over 20 years of experience in Hawaii’s tourism industry and is a former board member of the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority. He is a graduate of the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa, earning his bachelor of science degree in travel industry management.
HPU faculty member Leslie Blood, M.B.A., noted that her students were inspired by Chun’s leadership qualities and Alaska Airlines’ steadfast dedication to the Hawaiian Islands. Throughout his presentation, students actively participated by posing insightful questions and noting the essential attributes to be successful in travel industry management.
