Dr Jill Packman has been an educator and mental health provider for over 20 years. She began her teaching career as a professor of Counseling and Mental Health She then took a role developing the Interprofessional Education program for the health science programs at the University of Nevada, Reno. In addition to this role, she was the Behavioral Medicine course director for the PA Program at the University of Nevada, Reno. While teaching, Dr Packman has been providing care to children, teens, and families in Nevada focusing on underserved and marginalized populations.
Dr Packman has been a PA educator for 4 years and a student success professional for 15 years. Dr Packman helped to develop the UNR PA Program curriculum in Behavioral Medicine and developed the IPE Program across campus. Additionally, Dr Packman was instrumental in developing the student success and guidance protocols for the UNR PA Program. Dr Packman has taught Behavioral Medicine, Research, and PA Role Development. She continues to guest lecture at UNR teaching on Eating Disorders, Child Mental Health, Interpersonal Violence, Mood Disorders, and Motivational Interviewing.
Dr Packman has published and presented on Bullying, IPE, and adult education.
Dr Packman lives in Minden, NV which is situated in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. In her rural community she continues to provide support for underserved children and families through consultation, supervision, and practice.
