BIOGRAPHY:
- My name is Joy Bliss. I am a registered Metis Indian from Canada. I have been a nurse in various roles in Canada and the US, from Renal Transplant, Flight nurse in an northern Isolation hospital, and helped set up a 5 bed ICU, NICU, Float nurse, Clinical Development Nurse for Obstetrics and Gynecology, Head Nurse Post-Partum and Nursey (100 beds & 70 staff,) CEO/COO of a Plastic & Laser Surgery Center in Honolulu Hawaii and Laser Consultant/trainer as well as Director of Marketing in a Pediatric Hospital. I have been an Adjunct Professor first with Chaminade University since 2014 and most recently with HPU. I have taught OBS & Pediatrics, Primary Care and Leadership, EBP & Research. I have had the privilege of taking nursing students on an International Clinical Immersion to Chuuk, Micronesia. I have also been Program director for a HRSA grant where I assisted in creating a summer session course on “Primary care in the community for the Underserved Populations” in the Hawaiian Islands for a BSN Program.
