ALOHA!
During your time in the OTD program at HPU, 13 weeks of the program will be conducted as on-site lab immersion sessions. Students who do not live near campus may need lodging accommodations during the on-site lab immersions. Students are required to facilitate their own lodging arrangements. We strongly encourage you to connect with others in your cohort so you can share accommodations. The HPU OTD program plans to provide virtual space where students can connect prior to the start of their cohort. We’ve compiled some resources for short-term and long-term housing to get you started!

NON-TRADITIONAL LODGING
Short-term rentals (STRs) have been regulated in Honolulu since 1989. STRs are also known as vacation rentals and are lodgings that provide guest accommodation for less than 30 days. To learn more please visit the City and County of Honolulu Information about Short-Term Rentals. Legal short-term rentals have either a Nonconforming Use Certificate (NUC), or are located in the resort area. Review the Approved Short-Term Rentals.

OFF-CAMPUS HOUSING
Students will need to find their own apartments and off-campus housing either before they arrive in Hawai'i, or after they arrive and have had a chance to become familiar with the local environment. The island of O'ahu offers many different living arrangements--from the fast-paced city lifestyle of Honolulu to the quiet beach town of Kailua. HPU has compiled some resources and tips to get you started.
