Adam Clark

Director 

Adam T. Clark, Ph.D. is the Director of the Ho’oko Rising Scholars Program at Hawaii Pacific University (HPU). This innovative program was established in 2022 with a $3.35 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Its mission is to support under-resourced or under-represented students who are earning bachelor’s or associate degrees and have placed into first-year transitional math or writing courses. 

Under Dr. Clark’s leadership, the inaugural cohort of nearly 80 Ho’oko Rising Scholars began their studies in fall 2023. These students benefit from personalized support, including academic coaching, peer mentorship, and access to dedicated writing and math tutors. 

Dr. Clark’s commitment to student success extends beyond the classroom. He ensures that scholars have the tools they need to thrive academically and personally. His passion for education and equity drives the program’s success and his commitment to research makes sure that program decisions are impactful and data driven.
