Housing and Meal Rates

Applications for the 2024-2025 Academic Year will open on March 1 for first-year students (Early Action students will have access starting February 23)! Apply early for your best chance at securing a spot.

HPU is in the process of solidifying a third property, in addition to the Waterfront Lofts and the Aloha Tower Marketplace, and will post an update at a later date when more information is available.

WATERFRONT LOFTS Residential Community

2024-2025 AcademIc YEAR Dates

August 22, 2024 - May 5, 2025

Note: Not all unit types listed here will be available. Units will be offered based on availability. Waterfront Lofts units are currently available to first-year and transfer students only.

When you live at the Waterfront Lofts at the Aloha Tower Marketplace, you live literally right on the water - with all the amenities you need located nearby. When you are hungry, the dining facility Pier Nine is your go-to spot. 2^nd Floor Loft Units: Each loft is configured differently and houses four to seven students who share two or three bedrooms in the loft. Residents in each loft share a single or double bathroom. Lofts feature a living area with seating, and kitchenette (lower level cabinets, sink, counter space, and apartment-sized refrigerator). Some units may have a microwave. Please note that once it no longer works, residents are responsible for purchasing their own microwave (only new, unused microwaves permitted), if desired. Limit one microwave per unit.

2^nd Floor Studios: Studios house two, three or four students who share a bathroom. All studios are equipped with a mini-fridge. Some units may have a microwave. Please note that once it no longer works, residents are responsible for purchasing their own microwave (only new, unused microwaves permitted), if desired. Limit one microwave per unit.

3^rd Floor Residential Honors Community: Students share a bedroom (including lofted bed, desk and storage unit) with one, two or three roommates. The 3^rd Floor Living Space features a communal kitchenette and snacking area, study spaces, community gathering space, and shared bathroom/shower facilities. NOTE: All 1st Year Residential Honors students are required to live in the 3^rd Floor residences.

Utilities charges are included with the room rate for all units and occupancy types.

All students living in the Waterfront Lofts are required to purchase the meal plan. These meals are provided by the new full-service student dining facility, Pier Nine by Sam Choy, on the first floor of the Aloha Tower Marketplace. Meal plans are offered in three tiers. All meals are all you care to eat. The plans also include flex dollars for retail items, extra meals, or guests. Students must choose one plan when completing the Housing Application.

• 14 Meals per week with $250 flex dollars: $3,991/semester
• 16 Meals per week with $150 flex dollars: $4,299/semester
• All Access with $50 flex dollars: $4,606/semester

EXECUTIVE CENTRE apartments

The Executive Centre is located in downtown Honolulu (1088 Bishop Street), blocks from the HPU downtown campus, where students may walk to campus and access HPU facilities and various retail and dining options in the area. There will be 57 furnished apartments (studio double occupancy, standard double occupancy, and deluxe double occupancy) designated as student residences. While there is a full kitchen, students may opt-in to a Pier Nine meal plan. These apartments are available for continuing students, transfers, and graduate students. For more details, click here. 

KALO TERRACE apartments

2024-2025 AcademIc YEAR Dates

August 22, 2024 -  May 5, 2025

Kalo Terrace Student Suites (1054 Kalo Place) is located in a student friendly neighborhood, with close proximity to shops/stores, banks, post office, library, restaurants and fast food eateries. There will be approximately 40 furnished apartments (four bedrooms, two bathrooms; double occupancy bedrooms) that houses a total of eight students per apartment.

The property location is near bus lines to the downtown campus--about 12 minutes from the Aloha Tower Marketplace. We will be providing shuttle service from Kalo Terrace Apartments to the downtown campus buildings. More details on the shuttle time and service will be provided shortly. Alternatively, students may also catch a city bus a block away from the Kalo Terrace with a direct route to downtown where HPU’s classes are held. TheBus, as it’s known, has routes that cover all of O‘ahu, including a popular Beach Bus, and HPU students receive a free, unlimited pass to ride.
